Texas

I am in Texas now. It took us Saturday an Sunday to get there. We took stops to get food, and to go to the bathroom. In Arkansas, I hated the bathrooms! They were all filled with flies! It was disturbing! I still had fun!

Literary Essay:Beany and the Dreaded Wedding

Book: Beany and the Dreaded Wedding
By: Aria M.
June-9-2014

Have you ever worried crazy about a wedding? Well, here's a girl who did. In the book Beany and the Dreaded Wedding, Bernice, or Beany is invited to be a flower girl in a wedding and is stressed that she will mess up. I think that Bernice/Bean is very worried, or stressed about being  in the wedding. That is why she doesn't want to be in it, she doesn't want to mess up.

Bean is very nervous about being a flower girl because she doesn't want to mess up. Beany thinks that something will go wrong, just because of her. For example, when Bean's cousin Amy came over and first asked her to be the flower girl, she worried herself. She thought about the bad things that could happen rather than thinking about the good things that could happen. Bean's exact thoughts were, "I didn't tell Carol Ann, but those were the exact reasons I didn't want to be in my cousin's wedding. What if the back of my hair came out all weird and lumpy that day and everyone could see it while I stood at the altar? What if the photographer asked us to say "cheeseburger" while he took the picture, and snapped it right while I was on the sound? What if I dribbled soup or had a piece of food hanging on my chin while I ate? What if they made me do the chicken dance? Scariest of all, though, was the thought of walking down the aisle with everyone looking at me. I didn't know if I could do that." She is constantly thinking that everything will go wrong.

Bernice thinks about the bad things,Not the good things. She should think about how pretty her dress is, or how fun the dinner will be. She should be glad to be seeing her cousins and relatives because of the big day! Instead, she is focusing on the bad things.

Beany doesn't want to be in the wedding also because she thinks that she has to wear a big, fancy dress. She told her mom, "Mom, I can't be in the wedding. They are going to make me wear a fancy, magazine dress and no one will come near me. Carol Ann said so." She shortly found out that you can wear any kind of dress for the wedding. Now that she knew that, she wrote a letter to her cousin, Amy. It included things that she did NOT want, and things that are OK. Bean might not really fancy stuff because it might bother her a lot.

This proves that Beany was scared for the wedding. She will soon learn to get over it. Bean learns to concur her fear, which is good for her, and her family.

The lost ship:part 1

I am bored.
Since I finished all my work early, I shall do my AHW. I shall also write a story.

"More tea ma'am?"
"No thank you maid. Instead, I shall ask you for a blueberry muffie." Muffie is the short word for muffin.
Eloise the princess, is a very sassy princess. She goes to mermaid camp every summer! You don't even want to know the cost!
Eloise sat their, impatiently...
"Ugh! I need to update my phone! Kalisa! You shall get me wifi!"
"Yes, ma'am. Would you like some tea with that?"
"Will you ever listen? I shall not have tea!"
"My apologies ma'am--"
"--and where is my muffie?!"
Kalisa scurried away to get Eloise signal for her phone...and the muffie.
"Ahoy!"
"What? We are not on a ship," Eloise was not in a good mood.
"I would like to ask a favor,malady. I--"
"What,"
"I would like 10,000 gems to re-build my ship--"
"10,000 gems? What happened to the ship?"
"Well.....we kind of lost it.--"
"You lost your ship? What kind of pirate loses his ship? You shall leave now."
"But...malady--"
"Out with you!"
"But--"
"Guards!"
The guards seized the poor pirates hands and handcuffed him. They led him out of the kingdom and banned him...forever.
"Now," said the princess,"who shall be next....."
"Ma'am, bad news...we are out of muffies,"
"No. This cannot be possible...No, no, no!"
"Calm down ma'am--"
"Silence! Those muffies were everything that matters in this cruel world!"
"We could always bake some more ma'am--"
"Then go, you shall go bake the muffies Kalisa...you shall go...."
"Yes ma'am."
To be continued...

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp~AHW~Wednesday

I cannot wait to go to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp! I want it to be summer so bad! I also think that I want to sign up to be an orchestra camp counselor! I think that it would be funny if Dyson(my young brother) went to the camp and I was his counselor! Dyson is going to be playing the Cello.  I play the viola. I also want to volunteer at the Baldwin Library. I just like to help out...and I like playing with younger kids.

Chains--AHW--Tuesday

I really love the book Chains. The worst part is, I didn't get to finish it! I hope we'll have more time to finish it tomorrow. If we don't, I'll probably ask my mom for it.

Bows...continued AHW Monday

This is one of my absolute favorite bows!
I don't have it(yet...) but I love it.
I am bored.
Very bored.
It is navy blue.
It has tiny white hearts on it.
That is all.
Bye bye!

Journal Response #3

The problems that Isabel/Sal is facing is pretty obvious. She is a slave for example. Other than that, her sister was sold away to some stranger. If my mom was dead and my brothers were sold away, I would be mad at the person who sold them. I would also be sad because they are my brothers. The similaritys between back then and now would be that kids like me have to do chores. The difference is that we don't do that every day. If we don't do our chores and try to run away, we won't get branded. Isabel/Sal handles these problems miraculously! It is a miracle that she hasn't died, really! She isn't lucky, but she isn't unlucky. Her thoughts are similar to her actions because her thoughts act like actions. I wouldn't have stood up to Madam like Isabel/Sal did when she heard that her sister had been sold. I would have probably ran for it though.
